About Karmela
Whether teaching hip hop, leading a step class, canoeing in the South China Sea, backpacking through Europe or zip-cording through the Amazon rainforest, Karmela never sits still. Unless she’s writing about teaching hip hop, leading a step class, canoeing in the…you get the idea.
A lifelong reader of heartstopping suspense books, Karmela counts Vince Flynn and Suzanne Brockmann as her early writing influences. But the birth and popularity of the kick-ass heroine out to save the day is really what spurred her to begin writing.
Now, Karmela writes romantic suspense novels with strong female leads who not only save the world, but save the guy as well. No wimpy chicks here!
Just like her heroines, Karmela is an adrenaline junkie who likes firing guns, careening down a mountain on a snowboard, and carving figure eights in her minivan. She is bilingual, has traveled around the world and back, and even gave birth twice without pain meds. But this tough chick is also a softie at heart who cried like a baby after the Starship Enterprise was destroyed at the end of Star Trek: Generations and refuses to see King Kong and Brokeback Mountain.
