A multi-topic’d post here.
TOPIC 1: Feet strengthening.
I took a yoga/pilates class this weekend and I couldn’t hold the tree pose, not because of a lack of balance, but because my supporting foot started to hurt. This is also the reason I can’t hold my relevés. I suspect it’s from years and years of wearing nothing but high-heeled shoes. It’s weakened my arches somehow. Crap. This means that if I’m serious about continuing to dance, and I am, I might have to switch to completely wearing flat shoes all the time. Goodbye stiletto heels! But maybe for special occasions it’ll be alright. Sigh…
TOPIC 2: New goal?
I wonder if it’s too late for me to become a ballet instructor. I specifically want to teach very young kids ages 4-6. They’re just so smiley and filled with exuberance and they don’t dance for fitness or to improve their technique or to get into a company. They dance for the best reason: for the sheer joy of it. I’m already doing step #1: I’m taking a ballet class to reintroduce myself to the dance floor. Second step I think is to take more than one class a week and to do a lot of self-study on terminology and technique. Third step is probably to do more self-study on the methodology on teaching very young children. Wonder what kind of credentials I’ll need to participate in something like this?
TOPIC 3: Movies!
I rented Center Stage this past Friday for me and my sister to watch and as I suspected, sis loved it. Next movie: maybe this? We both haven’t seen it yet.
