Met up with my beautiful critique partner J.T. Bock last night and we dished and kvetched and moaned and groaned about everything from our writing (not enough time) to books (we just don’t get the crossover appeal of the Twilight series) to movies (Sex and the City!!!) to fashion (ballerina fashion and the return of flared jeans) to our personal lives (not enough time redux). I’m reminded of the fact that even with the telephone and text messaging and emailing and loops and chats and blogs, there is no substitute for meeting in person and chatting over a long, leisurely meal. One of the few joys in life and no better way to get over a funk.
We accomplished two things last night: (1) We are going to exchange pages toot suite, and (b) We have tentatively penciled in a date for our Writing Weekend (Columbus Day weekend). Yay!
I wrote last night and even outlined the next couple of scenes. Progress! Shall I do a progress bar for TSG? Yes, let’s! Been awhile since I’ve done one:
THE SPY GAME: FIRST DRAFT
Aaaaah…that felt good to see. Onward!

Aw … shucks. You’re gorgeous, too, hon!
Definitely, a joy in life kvetching and eating with a wonderful friend. Looking forward to a productive writer’s weekend. ONLY talking during meals and the late night drink.
