With my sister’s encouragement, I finally got the courage to register for a ballet class! Living where I live, we have tons of pre-professional dance studios and companies in the area. Sis found one that has a progressive adult ballet class that can take me all the way up to pointe if I get good enough. Can you imagine? Me, an almost 40-year old buying her first pointe shoes? I never, ever dreamed it was possible! Maybe somewhere along the line I can even start teaching!
But first things first: sis and I had to coordinate OUTFITS! Be it snowboarding, hip hop class or kickboxing, I never, ever engage in a new activity without the appropriate threads. As far as I’m concerned, looking like you know what you’re doing is Step 1 on the road to success. So, the shopping list:
SHOES: Capezio Juliet, canvas with split sole
TOP: Black spaghetti-strap camisole with built-in shelf bra
BOTTOM: Capri tights
LAYER: Pink wraparound sweater
Bangin! If I keep going I might also get me a black 3/4 sleeved unitard (isn’t that such a funny word?) and pink tights.
The place we’re taking a ballet class also offers an Intermediate-Level Street Jazz/Hip Hop class and I’m considering taking that one too. Could get expensive. I’m at least going to one class to check it out.
